Timothy Brooks is co-director of Carolina Outreach, LLC. He has worked in the field of mental health since 1990, with experience in direct services, research, and management. Tim earned his Bachelor of Arts in sociology from North Carolina State University and his Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has been a board member for other youth and family-related non-profits, including the National Family Preservation Network and Scotties Place. He lives in Durham with his wife and three children.
Tiffany Elder is managing broker for Paradigm Properties, in Durham, North Carolina, and has worked as a licensed broker in North Carolina since 2004. She earned her Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Bachelor of Science in computer science from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Tiffany is also a North Carolina Licensed General Contractor. Her interests include community revitalization, historic restoration, and green building.
Rachel Gross is a management analyst at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. She earned her Master's in Public Administration from North Carolina State University and her Bachelor of Science in Youth Ministries: Program and Leadership from Toccoa Falls College. She has over a decade of program management experience working with student populations in both the faith-based and private organizations, including two years at Carolina Outreach, LLC. Rachel is passionate about empowering underprivileged populations to pursue their dreams to live better, healthier lives. Rachel lives in downtown Raleigh, NC and enjoys investing in her community.
Wendy Hillis is campus historic preservation architect at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a position she began in 2008, after accruing 13 years of experience in the field. She earned her Master of Architecture from the University of Virginia at Charlottesville and her Bachelor of Arts in art history from University of California at Davis. Wendy's interests include historic preservation and urban/low-income housing.
Roger Lassiter is project controller for Siemens Medical Solutions in Cary, North Carolina, with more than fifteen years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, and business operation functions. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in accounting from North Carolina State University and is a Certified Public Accountant. Roger believes in supporting community programs that empower disadvantaged youth and families and hopes to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.
Thomas Reid (Board Chair) is co-director of Carolina Outreach, LLC. He has worked with children and their families in both residential and community-based settings since 1988. Tom earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the State University of New York at Oneonta and his Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He lives in Chapel Hill with his wife, Jackie, and son, Ethan.
Mike Riley is an attorney at Martin & Jones, PLLC, in Raleigh, NC. Since joining the firm in 1995, he has focused his practice on representing individuals suffering from occupational diseases including malignant mesothelioma and other cancers. Mike serves as a member of the Trust Advisory Committee for the C. E. Thurston Asbestos Trust and as a pro bono arbitrator for the Eagle-Picher Trust. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Wake Forest University and a Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He lives in Raleigh with his wife, Sharon.
Tanaya Robinson grew up in New York City and relocated to Durham several years ago, where she has since graduated from Hillside High School. She is currently pursuing her medical coding certificate at Durham Technical Community College and one day hopes to become a pathologist. Tanaya enjoys volunteering her time, taking part in her community, and helping others.
Renee White has supervised clinicians at Carolina Outreach, LLC, in Durham, North Carolina since 2004 and is currently director of child services. She holds a Bachelor of Science in psychology from University of Arizona, a Master of Social Work from University of Kentucky, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has over 13 years of experience as a child and family therapist and is passionate about empowering marginalized and disenfranchised families.
